Willie Hancock Obituary

Willie Bell Hancock, 88, of Shelby County, Texas, passed away on December 13, 2024, surrounded by loved ones in Tomball, Texas.  She was born on October 04, 1936, in Milam, Texas, to the late L.B. Cupit Sr. and Minnie Ella (Gray) Cupit.  

Funeral service will be held at 1PM on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at Mangum Funeral Home, with Bro. Weldon Blackmon and Bro. Buddy Gray officiating. Interment will follow at Dunnigan Cemetery. 

Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 12PM on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at Mangum Funeral Home. 

Willie was raised in Houston, Texas. She and her twin sister’s first job outside of school was running elevators. She oftentimes talked about this adventure. Willie met the love of her life, Charles Edward Hancock, and the two were married only a few months later. They shared over 58 years together before his passing in 2011.  They raised four wonderful children. Together they worked on the ranch. She was also a butcher. Willie knew every cut of meat there was. 

Willie enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved family gatherings. She adored her grandchildren. Willie also enjoyed the outdoors, growing flowers. Willie loved the Lord and served in many ways. 

She is survived by her sons,

Willie is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Hancock; parents, L.B. and Minnie Cupit; son, Billy Dale Hancock; son-in-law, Jerry Paul Burrow; and brother-in-law, Robert Coons.

Pallbearers serving will be Bradley Burrow, Christopher Hancock, Luke Hancock, Jeremy Hancock, Brady Burrow, Mason Harvey, Tristan Hancock, and Jeff Harvey.

Honorary pallbearers serving are Bryson Burrow, Ty Harvey, Liam Hancock, Timothy Hancock, and Evan Weaver.
