Sammy Lavon Ontiveros, 58, of Center, Texas, passed away on December 4, 2023, in Nacogdoches, Texas. He was born on September 2, 1958, in San Augustine, Texas, to the late Leon Ontiveros and Ollie Mae (Scott) Ontiveros.
Funeral services will be held at 12PM on Friday, December 8, 2023, at Mangum Funeral Home, with Bro. Austin Boylen officiating. Interment will follow at Old Salem Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-7PM on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at Mangum Funeral Home.
Sammy was born in San Augustine. He spent some time in San Antonio and California before his family returned to Shelby County. Sammy enjoyed listening to music, watching football and wrestling. He was a chef. He loved cooking, especially cooking for his family. His pride and joy were his children and grandchildren. Sammy also enjoyed every opportunity to travel. He found great joy in spending time with and caring for his brother, Damon. They enjoyed a special brotherly bond like no other.
