Avis Louise “Tootsie” Greer, formerly of the Dreka Community, born on January 30, 1930, was called to her heavenly home on December 30, 2022 at the age of 92 in Nacogdoches, TX.
Louise was born & raised in Huxley, Texas to the late Jim Fred Campbell and Callie (Furlow) Campbell. She was one of twelve children in her family. She was a graduate of Shelbyville High School. Louise married O.L. “Billy” Greer on January 10, 1948, and the two spent over 40 years raising two sons and as business owners working alongside one another before his passing in 1991. She was a devoted Christ follower, daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. There was not a soul that would leave her presence without a full belly, a warm heart, and her signature hand squeeze. She enjoyed traveling, singing gospel hymns, and her Dallas Cowboys. Louise loved hosting and spending time with her family. Her grandchildren & her home were her pride and joy. She had many close friends in the community and cherished her work family at H & R Block where she worked until almost 80 years of age. Louise loved the Lord, she served him in many ways and was a long-time faithful member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
