Laverne Battles, 88, of Center, passed away Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Huntington Health & Rehab in Huntington. Graveside Service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at White Rock Cemetery with Bro. Bill Hunter officiating and eulogy by Franklin D. Battles. Visitation will be Monday, April 10, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Mangum Funeral Home. She was born November 2, 1928 in the Camp Worth Community in San Augustine County to Luther and Mae Lee Goodman. She was homemaker and worked at Lillie Mae s Grocery Store for many years. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Nacogdoches. She is preceded in death by her father, Luther Goodman, Mother & Step-father, Mae Lee Goodman Taylor and James Monroe Taylor, husband, DL Battles, 3 Sons, Eddie Battles, Lynn Battles & Spencer Battles.
