Kenneth Peters, 96, of Watauga, Texas, passed away on May, 14, 2022, in Fort Worth, Texas. He was born on December 17, 1925, in Manning, Texas, to the late Walter Greenwood Peters and Marion Holmes Peters.
Ken grew up in Angelina County. He joined the United States Coast Guard as a Merchant Marine which became the United States Navy during World War II. He proudly served his country during the following, American Campaign and Pacific Campaign, earning the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign medal. He served during WWII Battle of Okinawa. During his time in the service, he met the love of his life, Florencia, in Iran and the two were married December 28, 1978, in the Philippines. Ken was an avid reader and loved listening to Blue Grass music. He loved reading the Fort Worth Star Telegram. He was a novice at collecting coins. Ken enjoyed the outdoors, especially, gardening. He was a member of the Free Masons. He loved his work with the Shriners and Free Mason organizations. Ken had a heart of gold. He was the first to help in any situation.
He is survived by his loving wife, Florencia Peters; son, Kenneth Peters Jr.; sister, Elizabeth Muller and spouse Robert; grandchildren, David Peters Jr. and wife Jordan, Sean Peters; great grandchildren, Ayla Peters, Elara Peters; and a host of family and friends that will miss him dearly.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Marion Peters; and son, David Peters Sr.
