Joyce Lynn (Oates) Flournoy

Joyce Lynn Oates Flournoy, 79, of Shreveport, Louisiana, passed away on May 21, 2022, in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was born on January 16, 1943, in the Dreka Community to Jessie Earl Oates and Vashti Ross Oates.  Mrs. Flournoy was a life-long member of Dreka United Pentecostal Church.

Funeral service will be held at 2PM on Thursday, May 26, 2022, at Mangum Funeral Home with Rev. Kerry Green and Rev. Jeff McGee officiating.  Interment will follow at Rather Cemetery in Shelbyville, Texas. 

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 25, 2022, from 5-8 PM at Mangum Funeral Home.

Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, Jessie Earl Oates and Vashti Ross Oates; and brother, Jimmy Earl Oates.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Guy Flournoy.

Mrs. Flournoy’s sons-in-laws, grandsons, and great grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
