Joe Allen McSwain, 89, of Center, Texas, passed away on December 20, 2023, surrounded by loved ones in his home. He was born on October 31, 1934, in Center, Texas, to the late Kermit A. McSwain and Cora Mae (Spells) McSwain.
Funeral service will be held at 2PM on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at Mangum Funeral Home, 420 San Augustine St., Center, Texas, with Bro. Tim Perkins officiating.
Visitation will be held prior to the service on Saturday, December 23, 2023, beginning at 1PM at Mangum Funeral Home.
Joe was born and raised in Shelby County. He met the love of his life at the Champion office in which they both were employed. Joe married the love of his life, Becky Jean Luman, in 1961, The two had two wonderful children, Jonise and Leann. They raised their children in Shelby County. They spent over 14 years together before her passing in 1975. Joe retired from Center Plywood in 1996 with over 33 years of service. He loved his family, and was a great husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He enjoyed spending time with his family. Joe enjoyed farming, the outdoors, and playing dominoes. He loved the Lord and found great joy in studying God’s word.
