Joe was raised in Tenaha, Texas. He attended Tenaha High School. He met the love of his life in church, Mary Pierce, and they were married on July 7, 1977. They raised 3 wonderful children, Jennifer, Joy, and Joseph. Joe was also known as the repo man as he worked many years in Shelby County repossessing for local banks. Throughout these years he made many friends. He also spent many years working at San Augustine Pawn & Gun shop and Bobs Pawn and Gun. He never met a stranger as he was a very personable man. He was kindhearted. Joe was a peacemaker. You could find Joe riding his four-wheeler, working in the yard, or just piddling as he would say. His pride and joy was Mary, and he did everything he could to make sure she was taken care of. Joe loved spending time with his children, and grandchildren, and his fur baby Dinky.
