Jena "Candy" Kirkley

Jena (Candy) Kirkley Stennett Engle, 71, of Jefferson, Texas, passed away on March 15, 2024, in Jefferson, Texas, after complications of long-term health issues. Preceded in death by husband of 35 years, Steve Engle, 63, who died on February 5, 2024, after a year-long battle with cancer.

She was born November 5, 1952, in Center, Texas, to Joyce Ham Kirkley and Eugene Kirkley. She attended school in Center and graduated from high school in 1971. She later graduated from LSU-Shreveport. 

They attended First Baptist Church in Jefferson.

Also preceded in death by father, Eugene Kirkley, and infant sister, Colleen, and grandparents Pleas and Buna Ham, and Rex and Anna Kirkley.

She is survived by:

Mother, Joyce Ham Kirkley of Center, TX

Daughter, Renee Swain of Littleton, CO

Son, Shelby W. Stennett of Arvada, CO

Granddaughter, Shyanne Swain of Littleton, CO

Great granddaughter, Brielle Jackson of Littleton, CO  

Brother, Richard Kirkley of Kerrville, TX

Nephews, Rex Kirkley and Rick Kirkley, of Center, TX
