Harlene Muckelroy

Harlene Muckelroy, 78, of Center, passed away peacefully in her sleep Saturday, March 4, 2017 in Shreveport, La. She was surrounded by her family and loved ones. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Mangum Funeral Home with Bro. Don Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Martinsville. Visitation will be Monday, March 6, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Mangum Funeral Home. Harlene was born July 7, 1938 in Nacogdoches, Texas to Harland and Ruth (Parish) Burnaman. She grew up on a Dairy Farm, where developed a love for working with animals. She married James Ellis Muckelroy. They were married for 47 years. She was a member of Providence Missionary Baptist Church. She ws a wonderful homemaker, wife, mother & grandmother. She was famous for her chicken & dumplings and homemade desserts. She was also an excellent seamstress. She loved making clothes for family members and she made costumes for the 4-H Drill Team for over 20 years. The absolute pride and joy of her life was her four grandchildren. When her health failed her and she was no longer able to attend their activities, she looked forward to seeing pictures and hearing every details of what they were involved in. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harland and Ruth Burnaman, Husband, James Ellis Muckelroy, Sister & Brother-in-law, Sue and Robert Stanaland, Brother, Fred Burnman & Nephew, Steven Ross.
