Exa Mae Tyler, 99, of Center, Texas, passed away on October 15, 2022, in Center, Texas. She was born on April 19, 1923, in Center, Texas, to the late Thomas Martin and Grace Lou Fielder Martin.
Funeral service will be held at Mangum Funeral Home, on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at 2pm. Visitation will be held prior to the service on October 19, 2022, beginning at 1PM until service time at Mangum Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Newburn Cemetery, Center, Texas.
Exa was born and raised in Shelby County. She resided many years in the Houston area working in the food service industry. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and reading and studying God’s word. She especially found great joy spending time with family.
She is survived by her stepson, William Tyler and wife Mary; nieces, Carolyn Bittick, and Dorothy Lou Moore; special friend, Renny Aarons; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Exa is preceded in death by her husbands, Dan Tyler, Hurst Byrd; parents, Thomas and Grace Martin; sisters, Annie Martin, Veola Furlow, Syble Lee Byrd, Dorothy Wilburn; and brother, J. T. Martin.
The family would like to express sincere thanks to Affinity Hospice and Pine Grove Nursing Center for the exceptional care provided to Exa during her time of need.
