Daisy Mae Jones

Daisy Mae Jones, 74, of Center, Texas, passed away on September 9, 2023, in Center, Texas. She was born on May 5, 1949, in Center, Texas, to the late Eugene Jones and Lela (Askew) Jones. 

Funeral service will be held at 10AM on Sunday, September 17, 2023, at Mangum Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Warr officiating. Interment will follow at Buckner Cemetery.

Daisy was born and raised in Shelby County. She graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1969. Daisy had a kind and compassionate heart. Her contagious smile brightened the room. She enjoyed gardening, taking care of her pets, and caring for others.

She is survived by her sister, Lou Ann Peeler and husband Richard of Silsbee; brothers, Elbert Jones and wife Patsy of Carthage, Jimmy Jones of Center; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of family and friends that will miss her dearly.

Daisy is preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Lela Jones; sister, Virginia Daugherty, brother-in-law, James Daugherty, nephew, Michael Daugherty, and niece, Theresa Miles.

The family would like to especially thank, Billie Bailey, for the exceptional care given to Daisy throughout the years. Also, a huge thank you to Focused Care of Center for your excellent care provided in the past few years she has been in your care.
