Betty Joy Adams

Betty Joy Adams, 90, of Nacogdoches, Texas, passed away on September 11, 2023, peacefully in Nacogdoches, Texas. She was born on February 05, 1933, in Shelbyville, Texas, to the late Billy Marvin Lovell and Virgie Mariah (Oswalt) Lovell. 

A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 15, 2023, at 2PM at Mangum Funeral Home, 420 San Augustine St., Center, Texas 75935.

A visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 1PM at Mangum Funeral Home.

She is survived by her husband, Rolan Simmons of Nacogdoches; daughter, Neva Dawson of Brookeland, Texas; bonus daughter, Bobbie Sue Scates and husband Michael; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends that will miss her dearly.

Betty is preceded in death by her late husband, John R. Adams; sons, JT Adams, David Adams; parents, Billy and Virgie Lovell; siblings and other family members.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you for the care from nurses and staff at Stallings Court and Hospice of East Texas.
